Tadpole trikes have wheels connected to structures called kingposts, kingpins, or spindles. As the wheels turn, the spindle pivots in the frame. There can be high forces on spindle and long-term wear is a major consideration in the design. There are several different methods for constructing and lubricating the spindles.
