Alpine Dam/Mt. Tam

Let's ride from Sausalito to Alpine Dam and Mt. Tam's 7 Sisters before descending back into Mill Valley for lunch. Approximately 35 miles, we'll go over Camino Alto, ride bike route 20 to Fairfax, climb Bolinas-Fairfax Rd., then across Ridgecrest Blvd. to Pantoll Rd. We'll stop at the Ranger Station just across Panoramic Hwy., then descend Panoramic Hwy. to left at Sequoia Valley Rd.(4 corners) to drop into Mill Valley for lunch at Joe's Taco's on Miller Ave. Here is a link to the route: (If someone would like to transfer this to ridewithgps, please do so. The only way I have it in ridewithgps is from Crissy Field, but that would not give accurate mileage markers. If that helps anyone, here it is. We pick up this route in Sausalito at the Marin Bike Path by Mike's Bikes:

While our overall pace may end up being only 10-12 mph, it will be generated by moving without a lot of stops. We will have three brief rest stops on this ride--Fairfax, Alpine Dam and the Pantoll ranger station. (No water available between Fairfax and ranger station.) Lunch will be at the end of the ride in Mill Valley. Of course you are welcome to stop as much as you want, but please bear in mind this ride is geared towards people who want to keep the ride moving. There are no bailout points after the golf course above Fairfax. Please be honest with yourself about whether you have the legs to do this. Rain/wet roads cancels.
