BARC Monthly Ride - Alameda Creek Trail (Fremont, CA)
The Alameda Creek Trail is a flat, paved trail that runs along Alameda Creek out to Coyote Hills/San Francisco Bay. This ride is notable for its bay views, bird sightings and and the absence of interaction with vehicular traffic. Optional lunch in Niles (or other agreed) afterward. Niles is also known for its abundance of antique stores so if you're into collecting that also could be a part of your day.
Distance: 21.5 miles round trip
Pace: ~10 mph when rolling on flat ground
We'll ride the trail just past the point where the pavement ends and spend a moment to enjoy the fresh air and bay view before starting the return trip. On the way back we'll make a 3.5-mile loop diversion at Coyote Hills. There is a very short (~20 yards) steep section off the main trail and there is also a couple of short and very gradual downhills and uphills on this section. This section does have the best bay views on the route.
