E-32 The Hoppy Ride

Meetup: 8:15 am; Rollout: 8:30 am Ride Summary: Ride from the Fish Hatchery to Hoppy Brewing Company for brunch and back *(cash preferred). If you feel the ride is too long you can return via the light rail off of Guy West Bridge at 65th St.; or if you don't want to brunch with us you can turn back at Guy West Bridge. Regroups: River-Bend Park restrooms (on the right side of the trail just before the bridge); and on Guy West Bridge. On the return trip ~ William B. Pond Rec. area (rock restrooms/drinking fountain). Terrain: Paved multi-use trail with a few rolling hills, and a small amount of streets. Distance: 33 miles. Speed: 15 mph. Sweep: No, but we will re-group Rain cancels. Helmet required. If unable to attend, PLEASE update your RSVP.

Day-6 semi-recumbent bikes will be in stock again soon. Production delays have made Day-6 bikes a limited-availability commodity for the past two months, but the wait is almost over.

There are three routes: 15, 35, and 70 miles. Leslie, Carol and I are planning to do the 35 mile route as it has only 970' of climbing. The 70 mile route has 3404' of climbing. All three routes are fully supported with SAG vehicles, well-stocked rest stops, route markings, and cue sheets.

October is usually the nicest month of the year in the Monterey area. As warm as summer, but without the fog! Great scenery on this trail and worth the drive.
