Stevens Creek & SF Bay Trail Mid Week Evening Cool Down Recumbent Ride
Easy, beautiful, Wednesday evening ride beginning at the Stevens Creek Trailhead at Heatherstone and Dale Avenue on the Mountain View / Sunnyvale border in the South Bay, joining the SF Bay Trail near Google, then out to Shoreline Park. Out and back (12 miles) with possibly 2-3 more miles riding around the lake and along the SF Bay, depending upon the group's interest.
An evening ride is great for cooling down and de-stressing. Trike friendly.
This is a good beginner ride, and we are happy to slow down for new recumbent riders. Faster riders can pass and wait at the bottom of pedestrian bridges and overpasses. Slower riders can move at a gentler pace. Expect a rolling pace of 8-10mph. We will accommodate slower riders by slowing or regrouping.
The ride is planned so it starts a couple of hours before sunset, so bring sunglasses, as it is bright on the way down to Shoreline. Check the weather at Shoreline park in Mountain View beforehand, as it can be cool and windy. Bring a camera, as the light is beautiful for photography this time of day.
