Fixing Bolt Engagement

Each disc brake caliper is held to the frame by two bolts. There is some variability in how much thread engagement exists between the bolts and the brake calipers. Different trike spindle / kingpin designs result in engagement of more or fewer threads in the calipers. Typically, approximately 7-8 threads will be engaged in the caliper. Engagement of more threads results in a stronger hold and is less susceptible to loosening by vibration.
